Nuestra Declaración de Impacto Comunitario 2024
El Programa de Alcance Juvenil de The Pop-up Project ayuda a cerrar la brecha en la educación en danza en el condado de Hamilton al atender a estudiantes en nuestras escuelas públicas. Nos encontramos en East Side Elementary, Normal Park Museum Magnet y a través de nuestra colaboración comunitaria con Northside Neighborhood House: Red Bank Middle School, Red Bank High School y Hixson High School. También colaboramos con la Ciudad de Chattanooga (Shepherd Community Center, Eastdale Community Center, Avondale Library/Community Center), Young Ladies of Power y Girls Inc.
Actualmente, ofrecemos clases de baile a más de 400 niños cada semana durante todo el año. Proporcionamos clases de baile GRATUITAS y una experiencia artística enriquecedora a familias de bajos ingresos en comunidades desatendidas de Chattanooga, que representan el 50% de los estudiantes a los que servimos. Nuestro programa integral incluye clases de danza durante todo el año (septiembre a mayo) en ballet, hip hop, danza moderna, jazz y danza creativa; un programa de danza de verano de un mes y un intensivo de una semana, SummerDance 2024; además de excursiones a eventos culturales significativos.
Nuestro plan de estudios cumple con los estándares académicos integrales de arte del estado de Tennessee para los grados K-12. Nuestro programa mejora la capacidad de aprendizaje de poblaciones educativamente marginadas utilizando una pedagogía y experiencias culturalmente receptivas. Board Chair
Harolda Bryson
Harolda Bryson developed an interest in the arts at a young age. She studied the piano and the viola from early elementary school through her senior year of high school. After stepping away from studying music to focus on her college studies, Harolda reconnected with her interest in the arts while trying to decide on a career path as a young adult. Eventually finding her way to the legal profession, Harolda is a licensed attorney and currently works as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Chattanooga. Once Harolda settled into her career of practicing law, her interest in the arts evolved into her becoming an arts advocate and patron which has led to opportunities that allow her to support artists and arts organizations such as The Pop-Up Project. Through Harolda's service on The Pop-Up Project's Board of Directors, she has seen firsthand the impactful work that the organization does throughout Chattanooga. Harolda could not be more proud to support The Pop-Up Project in its contributions towards making her hometown a stronger community.

Chloé Morrison
Chloé's first love was dance — tap, jazz, ballet. She carries lessons from dance to this day and is proud to be a part of an organization that makes movement and expression possible for kids who might not have had the opportunity otherwise. In her day job, Chloé works as the communications director for a statewide nonprofit that supports entrepreneurs and innovation. She also serves on the board of WTCI. In her free time, Chloé enjoys creating art and music simply for the sake of creation, traveling, writing, cats, and supporting events for Soft Animal, a nonprofit organization that centers marginalized people, specifically queer folks, which she co-founded.

Lya Kimbrough
Born and raised in Chattanooga, Lya Kimbrough is a mom, creative spirit, and community builder who thrives on connection and collaboration. She serves as a Director at the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga, where she leads programs that support Black and minority-owned businesses through the Center for Economic and Black Business Success.
She deeply values the way dance can tell stories, bring joy, and connect people. One of her favorite things to do is dance around the living room with her daughter after a long day, using those moments to shake off stress and celebrate the small wins.
She is proud to serve on the board of an organization that keeps the joy of dance alive—not just for youth, but for adults like herself who sometimes need a reminder to slow down, move, and enjoy the moment.

Ismael Sandoval
Ismael Sandoval is a Mexican-American conductor who has directed several ensembles across the East Coast, all invested in the pursuit of bringing people together in the beauty and power of music. He is committed to investing in his community and finding ways to collaborate with community members on special community driven projects. In his free time Ismael loves to go on hikes with his wife, Emma, and his dog, Pablo.

Ashley Williams
Ashley recently relocated to the Chattanooga area after 15 years in NYC and San Francisco. She has been a leader in community management for most of her career working at brands like Airbnb and Wix, and most recently joining Stripe as the company's first Community Lead. She lives in St Elmo with her husband and son and loves supporting every corner of the arts in Chattanooga - from dance to theater to visual arts - and is so excited to join the board of The Popup Project.

Anthony M. Wiley Jr
Welcome to Today.
Anthony M. Wiley Jr. is a Chattanooga native who grew up navigating some of the city’s most underserved neighborhoods—yet never lost the power to imagine something better. He is the founder and CEO of Welcome to Today, LLC, a mindfulness and emotional intelligence company rooted in healing, liberation, and community care. With over a decade of experience as a nonprofit professional, equity trainer, music producer, meditation teacher, and activist, Anthony brings a deeply embodied understanding of transformation and justice.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from Bryan College and has served his community in several capacities: as an organizer of the 2020 social justice demonstrations in Chattanooga, a Police Advisory Review Board Member, and a Commissioner for Public Art Chattanooga. In 2021, he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy as a Second-Class Petty Officer after three deployments and eight years of service, earning distinctions including two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and the Coast Guard Expeditionary Medal. His reflections on race and military culture were published in the anthology Why Black Lives Matter (Too).
Wiley currently serves as the music minister at Westside Missionary Baptist Church and leads his business alongside his beautiful wife, Gabrielle. Together, they are raising three daughters—Hasiina, Miranda, and Asha—with love, rhythm, and reverence. When not organizing, creating music under the name “Brophesor X,” or writing, he practices meditation as a spiritual discipline and survival strategy.

Emily Ann Murphy
Emily Allen Murphy is thrilled to serve on the board of the Pop-Up project, and as a former dancer herself, wholeheartedly believes in the mission of the organization and the power that a vibrant arts economy can bring to communities. Emily currently serves as the Director of People and Culture at the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga and has previously served as an HR Professional in organizations of various sizes and industries since moving to Chattanooga in 2017. She is excited to pair her professional experience with her love of dance in order to help advance the mission of the Popup Project.

Anthony Prince
Anthony Prince is a musician, yoga teacher, community connector, and non-profit professional hailing from Atlanta, GA. Having played music his entire life, both professionally and recreationally, he's always loved the bonds that music and the arts create amongst peers and communities of all walks of life. Pre-Covid, Anthony founded a music & arts collective called Seeds of Sound that aimed to create various opportunities to connect the many disconnected arts groups within Atlanta by hosting pop-up events to curating full-on camping festivals. From working with dancers, visual artists, experiential artists, and uniting communities of all ages and demographics, Anthony strives to bring his connective experiences to support the ongoing work the Pop-Up Project has already been doing for so long now.
